National team of independent Canadian publicists assembled to create grassroots campaign!
Commander Chris Hadfield‘s live from space, coast-to-coast simultaneous concert for Music Monday is among the most remembered events of 2013. Presented by the Coalition for Music Education, Music Monday is an extraordinary platform that demonstrates the galvanizing power of music education. In 2014 Music Monday will mark a major milestone as it prepares to celebrate with a series of national events befitting its remarkable 10th Anniversary. Toronto-based, Victoria Lord Public Relations (VLPR). is delighted to announce its selection as the Agency of Record, responsible for the public and media relations surrounding the 10th anniversary celebration of Music Monday on May 5, 2014.
“We are so excited about the activities that are taking shape in communities across the country,” said Holly Nimmons, Executive Director, Coalition for Music Education. “As we ramp up plans to celebrate our 10th anniversary of Music Monday, I’m sure many are curious to see how we’re going to build from last year’s earth-to-orbit concert with Commander Hadfield. Last year, we showed how we could connect with space. This year, we will connect with each other! We are so pleased to have Victoria Lord Public Relations on board to help us tell the next chapter of our story.”
As the PR agency of record, VLPR will be responsible for managing public and media relations leading up to the 10th anniversary celebration of Music Monday on May 5, 2014. While Music Monday 2013 was of galactic proportions, in 2014 we will show the country how music affects each of our lives, our communities, our national pride and culture. To achieve this, VLPR has assembled a team of Canada’s top independent music industry publicists who will be working together with a collective voice so loud that we aim to be heard in every corner of the country.
“It is a great honour to represent the Coalition for Music Education and to build excitement and awareness of Music Monday among Canada’s music influencers,” said Victoria Lord, VLPR Inc. “The fundamental philosophy and growing need for the work undertaken by the Coalition for Music Education is to me – as a mother of two school-age children — something that I embrace with passion and fervour. I am also thrilled to be working with Holly and to be joined in this campaign by some of the most dynamic publicists in the business.”
The 10th Anniversary Music Monday Public Relations team includes: Shira Gilbert Public Relations (Quebec); Jolayne Motiuk, JM Entertainment (Alberta); Kim Juneja of Take Aim Media (British Columbia); Matt Charlton, Pigeon Row (Maritimes); RoseAnna Schick, RAS Creative (Manitoba and Saskatchewan); Ann Balmier, ValetSocial (online promotions); Christina Carew, Urbane Communications; and Elaine O’Neal, freelance arts writer and editor.
Since its inception in 2005, Canada’s annual celebration of music education, Music Monday has touched the lives of millions of students and teachers across Canada who take their music programs outdoors and into their communities to perform the same song on the same day, at the same time, uniting the entire country in song. Music Monday takes place on the first Monday of May each year.
